Do you live in an HOA or Condo Association in Loudoun County, VA? Do you want to help make your community more ecologically sustainable? If you answered yes to both questions, the Audubon Naturalist Society (ANS) invites you to join our free Greening Your Neighborhood program. This is the ultimate “Think globally, act locally” program!
What is the goal of the program? Your project could take many forms: creating a pollinator garden, installing a rain garden, securing community funding for invasive plant removal, creating an official Conservation Committee, or any other results-oriented goal you might have! What will I learn in the program? What does the program entail?
Throughout the program, you’ll get emails with advice and success stories for inspiration to moving forward. You’ll also participate in short surveys every other month to gauge and share your progress. ANS will also select five communities to receive additional, more personalized support. Want to learn more, but not yet ready to register? If you’re not yet ready to register (which you can do below), join us for an informal info session and Q&A about how this program can help you. Invite friends and neighbors to join you! Additional info sessions can be added, as needed. |

This work ranges from bringing back natural processes, like fire, to restoring historic hydrology. She’ll discuss the importance of looking back through history to better understand how to move restoration projects forward, how the Appalachian Mountains serve as a super highway of species flow, and how modern-day genetics work can help us protect isolated populations of native trees.
