Calling all ANS Members and Supporters!

Our 2021 Annual Meeting will celebrate the many ways we’ve thrived during the pandemic and adapted to change, including the completion of our wheelchair accessible nature trail and stream restoration at Woodend Nature Sanctuary.

ANS members will vote on candidates for the Board of Directors. You’ll find profiles of the Board candidates nominated by the Governance Committee HERE.

Special Guest Speaker: Mark Garland

ANS is honored to welcome award-winning naturalist Mark Garland as our featured speaker. Mark has been leading nature tours for more than 35 years, running his own company since 2005, and his wanderlust preceded his tour leading.

In March, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought his travel and his business to a sudden halt. The following year brought uncertainty, fear, isolation, sadness, and a wide range or related emotions to us all. Mark couldn’t travel, he couldn’t take folks out on nature walks, but he could still go on walks by himself. That’s what he did, every day, always close to home and always with his camera in tow. Mark also virtually shared his experiences and adventures as one of the most popular presenters for our ongoing Naturalist Hour online talks.

Follow Mark through his COVID year, through some of the lows, and see how birds and nature provided the necessary balm to get through that year, providing some surprise discoveries along the way.

The evening event will also include recognition of our dedicated volunteers and Natural History Field Studies graduates, and much more.
