Profile of ANS Legacy Society Member

Young or old, working or retired, we seek out natural places when we need to re-energize. We stretch out under big trees, watch our children and grandchildren wade in a brook, enjoy a picnic, and delight in the chapgcoupleonbenchweblegacy1nging seasons.

As a neighbor and a part of your community, ANS is the best ally for people concerned about air and water quality and who are determined to save the remaining natural and wild places in our neighborhoods — and our region. By naming the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. as a beneficiary of your estate, you are making an important statement about the quality of life you want for yourself — and for future generations.

Without an estate plan, your loved ones are forced to pick up the pieces of a confused financial puzzle when illness strikes or an accident occurs. There's no better time than now to create an estate plan that cares for your family and the causes important to you.

Several options exist to make the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. part of your legacy. It can be done through your Will or Revocable Trust; your life insurance; or retirement accounts.

By naming the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. as a beneficiary of your estate you will be joining a distinguished list of ANS supporters that are now members of the ANS Legacy Society. We look forward to welcoming you to this exceptional group.

To discuss your estate plan, please contact ANS Director of Development Jacky Wershbale or call Jacky at 301-652-9188 ext. 31.

pgmanwithchildleagacy2A pension, 401(k) plan, IRA, profit-sharing, group insurance, or a stock option plan will have written provisions for the disposition of the benefits upon the disability, retirement, or death of the employee.

Life insurance policies provide for the payment of their face amount on the death of the insured to a named beneficiary. The beneficiary may be an individual, the insured's estate, a trustee under a will or trust agreement, or a charitable organization.

Gifts of Life Insurance
Name the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. (ANS) as beneficiary of a policy insuring your life or transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. ANS may elect to cash in the policy or receive the death benefits later.

Retirement Gifts
Name the Audubon Naturalist Society of the Central Atlantic States, Inc. as the beneficiary of your IRA, 401 (k), or other qualified plan.

IRA Rollover
If you are 70 1/2  or older, you can have money from your IRA or Roth account sent directly to ANS and lower your adjusted gross income. This is most beneficial to traditional IRA holders because much of the money in these accounts is eventually taxable.
